I remember so well the first time I withdrew from law school and how “lost” I seemed to be and how you made yourself available twice a week because you thought it necessary, and at no extra compensation. And how many times did I get pre-exam jitters—not to mention in between those times, and I’d call you and there you would be. And how many times I came so close to “throwing my hands up in the air” and giving up—and how many times your words echoed in my mind, “Elaine, you know it will only be a temporary relief.” And how many times that realization kept me going! Anyway, all of the above I shall probably never forget and I thank you with the deepest gratitude. I honestly have to say, looking back on all the apprehension—and studying…the joy of getting past that hurdle really made the struggles worth it—truly. We did it! And while I’ll never know if I could have done it without you—I ‘m almost positive that I would not have done it without you—as certain as I can be without knowing first hand. Sine qua non!
